Substance Use and Prevention Services provided at Worth It Therapy are designed to support both the individual directly impacted by addiction and their family members in navigating the complexities of early recovery and ongoing relapse prevention. Addiction is a family disease, which is why developing tools to support sustained recovery for the individual in addition to the health of the family system is critical. Therapeutic approaches to accomplish this include:
Assessment and Evaluation: This involves completing a comprehensive intake to understand substance use history, patterns of use, co-occurring mental health disorders, and other relevant factors. This assessment supports the development of collaborative and impactful treatment goals.
Individual Therapy: One-on-one counseling with an individual struggling with substance use or transitioning into early recovery involves exploring potential underlying causes of substance dependence, developing positive coping skills, setting manageable goals for recovery, and addressing any mental health concerns.
Relapse Prevention: Collaboratively developing relapse prevention/safety plans ensures you can better identify triggers of use, develop positive coping strategies, and create a strong support system to minimize the likelihood of relapse and the negative impact of potential set-backs.
Dual Diagnosis Treatment: Often, individuals with substance use disorders have co-occurring mental health concerns like Depression, Anxiety, and Trauma. At Worth It Therapy, your therapists specialize in substance use services and mental health disorders and are trained to address both addiction and mental health issues concurrently.
Collaboration: Wrap-around support involves communication and resource connection between your therapist and providers of medicated-assisted treatment, inpatient, outpatient, sober living facilities, and withdrawal management services. This ensures you receive the quality support you deserve without falling through the cracks in the continuum of care.
For Family Members: Substance use impacts not only the individual struggling with addiction, but also their family members and close friends. Family sessions involve the client's loved ones in the treatment process, addressing dynamics and mechanisms that have inadvertently enabled continued use and contributed to ongoing stress on the family system. When family members better understand the disease of addiction and its impact on the family, they begin to heal and strengthen their ability to function effectively, regardless of the status of their loved one's recovery. *One-on-one therapy can be provided for a family member through their United or Medicare insurance. All other family sessions are self-pay only (multiple family members or individuals without insurance).
Whether you're someone struggling with addiction or a loved one impacted by substance use, at Worth It Therapy Services we believe recovery is possible. It starts with asking for help. We're here to partner with you along your healing journey.
