The next two-session course will meet at the Foundational Concepts Brookside Office Friday August 23 2019, 5:00 - 9:00 pm & Saturday August 24, 2019, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm Registration is limited to 6 participants.
Since Daring Greatly™ was published, Brené Brown, Ph.D. and her team have received emails every week from people who write, “I dared greatly. I was brave. I got my butt kicked and now I’m down for the count. How do I get back up?” What do the women and men who have successfully staggered to their feet after having fallen and found the courage to try again have in common? In Dr. Brown’s evidence-based course Rising Strong™, she teaches the skills needed to “get back up.”
Would you like to learn more about the Rising Strong™ process? Jennifer Worth, LCSW and Rose Wigodner, LCSW, Certified Rising Strong ™ facilitators, are offering a group where you can learn more about Dr. Brown’s work and how to apply Dr. Brown’s research in your personal life using the Rising Strong™ process. In the group, you will begin to understand what Dr. Brown calls the “physics of vulnerability.” These are the rules of engagement for Rising Strong. As you learn the Rising Strong™ process you will continue to develop skills to quiet your inner critic, embrace your imperfections, and own your birthright of worthiness.
Based on the research of Brené Brown, Ph. D., prominent shame researcher, this workshop will provide information on how to recover from the thinking/feeling behavior patterns and physical effects associated with shame. Learn strategies for maintaining your shame resilience and vulnerability by learning to accept and “rumble” with your feelings. This is one of the important concepts in Dr. Brown’s Rising Strong research. Participants will obtain information through video, discussion and experiential exercises. Participants will be able to:
Describe the Rising Strong process they can use to decrease and manage the physiology of shame based on Brené Brown’s research.
Begin to learn how to identify a broad range of feelings associated with shame and recognize the messages underlying them.
Employ several strategies to resolve and decrease feelings of shame when triggered.
Continue to learn about daily practices of Wholehearted living that can help prevent shame.
Cost: $250 for the 2 sessions; $15 for the workbook.
