Rebecca Ray, MSW, LCSW, LSCSW is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Bachelor of Social Work (2009) and a Master of Social Work (2010) from the University of Kansas. Rebecca’s clinical practice offers an eclectic approach calling from various treatment modalities, including: Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness-Based and Trauma-Informed Cognitive Behavioral Therapies (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Narrative Therapy practices. These interventions are used to treat a variety of conditions including anxiety, depression, trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), chronic pain/somatic concerns, and personality disorders. Rebecca is currently working towards certification in EMDR.
Rebecca is a firm believer in holistic health and the importance of addressing the mind-body connection in all aspects of treatment. She brings the belief in each client’s capacity for healing into every interaction. Utilizing the client’s own strengths and resources, Rebecca will assist in working towards shared goals and building a life worth living.
Rebecca’s social work career began in 2010 at Jewish Vocational Service assisting Kansas City’s immigrant and refugee population in finding needed community resources and supports. In 2011, she began work at Truman Medical Center’s outpatient behavioral health clinic providing community-based case management to adults with a wide array of severe, persistent mental health diagnoses. Upon obtaining clinical licensure in 2015 Rebecca transitioned to providing outpatient therapy and diagnostic services.
Rebecca joined Worth It in July 2018 and is now excited to be able to offer full-time availability meeting with clients Tuesdays-Fridays in the Brookside and Overland Park offices.
Beginning with internship experiences at Rose Brooks Center and MOCSA and continuing to her work with Worth It, Rebecca’s entire career has centered around the treatment of trauma. She has gained a wealth of training and experience and is enthusiastic about to putting them to use in building a healthier Kansas City.
Rebecca accepts referrals from the community at-large, as well as treating Foundational Concepts patients. She accepts United Healthcare and Medicare insurances. Rebecca offers both in-person and teletherapy Tuesday-Friday at our West Plaza clinic.
