IBS group: Gut-Directed Hypnosis for Gastrointestinal Disorders
Gut Directed Hypnosis (GDH) is an evidence-based protocol for the reduction of Gastrointestinal Disorders (GI) symptoms. Initially developed for use with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), research has shown that it is also effective with Inflammatory Bowel Diseases (IBD) such as Colitis and Crohn’s Disease as well as other concerns such as functional heartburn and globus.
why try gut directed hypnosis?
For IBS and IBD • Research shows that GDH improves overall wellness, bloating, pain, and abnormal bowel movements in people with IBS, IBD, and other GI issues • It is one of the most successful treatments for chronic IBS, with response rates of 80% or higher in most studies published to date Highly Effective • 80% of participants report significant improvement in their symptoms, even those who have not responded to medication or other traditional treatments • It uses the healing power of your own mind, generally without negative side effects • It has been shown to help people who have not responded to other treatments Relaxing and Easy • Participants often say that GDH is relaxing and easy to do. After attending five classes, effects last more than five years! • No changes in diet or medication are required • Research shows that it is as effective as following a low FODMAP diet, without the challenging dietary changes
what is hypnosis?
Hypnosis is a state of focused attention, which leaves you relaxed and open to new ways of thinking, and helps you tap into the unconscious mind’s ability to control your body. People often wonder if they will be out of control during hypnosis. Actually, hypnosis only works if you let it. It is often said that “all hypnosis is self-hypnosis.” By the end of class you will be able to use this skill to maintain your gains.
