Dustin Dukes, MA, LPC is a Licensed Practicing Counselor with a Master of Arts in Counseling with an emphasis in Mental Health from the University of Missouri Kansas City (UMKC). Dustin’s therapeutic approach utilizes a mix of Person Centered Therapy supported by behavioral interventions pulled form Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). This combined approach has been shown to be effective at treating a range of concerns including: depression, anxiety, trauma, substance use, and self-harm.
Dustin’s career in mental health treatment began in 2011 as a Case Manager with Truman Medical Center’s (TMC) outpatient Behavioral Health (BH) clinic, providing case management services to adults dealing with a wide range of mental health disorders. During this time he observed the benefits of therapeutic interventions and pursued his masters degree. After completing his program he progressed into the role of a therapist, and spent time as a member of various subcommittees including the Dialectical Behavior Therapy team and the Crisis Incident and Stress Management team. He continues to work with the TMC - BH clinic acting as a supervisor within the outpatient intensive community support department.
Dustin’s passion is in supporting people with what matters to them, allowing individuals to explore their values and process the things life throws at us which stand in the way of honoring those values. You matter, and what you want out of this life matters. Dustin joined Worth It Therapy in September 2020 to provide additional support to people during a time when we all need it most. Dustin is available to offer his counseling services to clients with evening and weekend availability, and accepts United Healthcare and private pay referrals from the community at large.
